How your sponsorship helps
Meet Bose Ironsi (pictured right), founder of the Women's Rights and Health Project, an organisation that provides counselling and legal support to survivors of gender-based violence across Lagos, Nigeria.
As a survivor of sexual abuse herself, Bose became a nurse where she treated many survivors of violence and has since been a tireless and passionate advocate for change.
In 2008, she established the Women's Rights and Health Project which assists women with the process of recovery and rebuilding their lives, as well as helping survivors bring their perpetrators to justice. Bose said:
I am happy that these women and girls have a place to go and someone to speak to at a difficult time. That was something I never had as a child.”
By taking part in The 137 Challenge and fundraising, you can support organisations like the Women's Rights and Health Project, to provide vital support for survivors of violence.
